I have two bits of news for today.
1. There has been a change in the rules that deals with the use of mature content on the website. We do not allow for websites to display mature content such as porn, erotica, slash fanfiction or anything that may depict adult material. The reason for this? Because there are many younger viewers who are hosted and may browse the websites hosted here and we would like to keep things ‘clean’. If you for whatever reason need to still show the adult material you will have to move to a new host, or consider having a second possibly private blog on LiveJournal or similar. We are open to discussion about this, so let us know what you think.
2. The application form is open again, so if you are interested in applying now you can, woot!

Maybe it’s not my place to say this, as I am not (nor have I ever been) hosted at Bubble – just passing through! – but it really disappoints me that in your rule change you singled out slash fanfiction as being taboo and, apparently, the only kind of fanfiction that may depict adult material. Just because it’s “slash” does not automatically equal dirty boysex – fluffy slash is still slash, why is that in appropriate when (apparently) fluffy het fic is a-okay?
I like you, Kya, and I know you are not homophobic, which is probably why reading that got my back up so much. I honestly do think it’s just a poorly worded sentence – but it’s one that would make me go I never want to be hosted here.
