Donations Page Revamped!
Dear Bubbley Visitors,
We have recently revamped the donation packages and now if you make a donation to the website you will receive a bundle of goodies (along with knowing you have helped the website to grow and prosper – or live long and proper if you are geekily inclined). There are three different donation packages that vary depending on the amount of money you donate. We are not trying to force anyone to donate certain amounts, but for those who are willing to give more we thought it was only fare.
You can view the new plans and make a donation if you are able to on the Donate page.
I would also like to apologize for delays in processing applications and replying to support tickets and emails. I have been insanely busy at the moment but I hope to be able to have everything in order again soon!
Rules, Contact Form & Hope For Haiti Now
I have a number of updates to announce in this entry so here we go.
Rules Rewording:
A very simple change has taken place in the rules, removing the word ’slash’ from the rule ‘Mature content featuring adult subjects or images are not allowed on the server. This includes: porn, erotica and other forms of similar writing, images, sound or video.’ It was brought to my attention that not all slash fiction features mature content.
Contact Form:
The contact form has now been removed and if you need to contact us you should use the support center to submit a support ticket and the lovely staff will get back to you as soon as possible. The support center not only makes it easier for us, but better for you because it allows the staff to work together and keep track of tickets and reply a lot sooner. I understand there may be some annoyance over the closure of the contact form, but in the end it will be better for everyone.
Hope For Haiti Now:
‘A massive, 7.0 magnitude earthquake struck Haiti near the capital of Port-au-Prince on Tuesday, January 12th. The damage to buildings is extensive and the number of injured or dead is estimated to be over 100,000.’ Bubble is proud to support Hope For Haiti Now and has donated $50 USD to this cause. If you have money to spare, please consider a donation to help those who are in desperate need.
Rule Change & Apps Open!
I have two bits of news for today.
1. There has been a change in the rules that deals with the use of mature content on the website. We do not allow for websites to display mature content such as porn, erotica, slash fanfiction or anything that may depict adult material. The reason for this? Because there are many younger viewers who are hosted and may browse the websites hosted here and we would like to keep things ‘clean’. If you for whatever reason need to still show the adult material you will have to move to a new host, or consider having a second possibly private blog on LiveJournal or similar. We are open to discussion about this, so let us know what you think.
2. The application form is open again, so if you are interested in applying now you can, woot!
Supporting YOU
Hello All,
I hope 2010 has been starting well for everybody. I have a feeling this is going to be a great year for Bubble with many exciting events unraveling throughout the year. Lets focus on the big news of the moment.
Bubble now has a snazzy support centre for you to submit your support tickets and the staff at Bubble will get back to you as soon as possible. I am also pleased that Hannah and Hannah are helping out as a Supervisor and Support Stuff. This should make getting help a lot easier (or we hope so!)
*hugs*
And the winner is
Ladies and gentlebugs I am very happy to announce the winner of the free .nu domain is Senyth! I am very excited for them and I hope you shall be too. There are many random winners as well so just because you didn’t win the .nu you still might receive a random prize (as long as you entered the competition that is).
Have a happy new year everyone!
Merry Christmas 2009!
Dear Hosted website owners and visitors, I would like to wish everyone a very merry Christmas from all of us hear at Bubble and hope you have a truly wonderful day filled with great joy and love. If you do not celebrate Christmas I hope you may still be able to enjoy this holiday and spend time with those that mean the most to you.
*giant hugs*
Application Form Closed for the Holidays
The application form for new hosting requests has been taken down for the holidays. If you have already applied and your application is pending you will still be pending review and will hear back from us shortly. The reason the application form is down is so the staff as Bubble may be able to have ‘less work’ during the holiday period and focus on the festivities. The application form will be available again in 2010 and we look forward to receiving all the new apps then!
We have new changes planned to take place on Bubble before or into 2010 and hope they will make the Bubble Experience better for everyone.
Win a .nu Domain!
The Christmas competition is here and it is a big one! If you would like to have a chance at winning a .nu domain head over to the competitions page, follow the rules and sign up! I am sure you would love a .nu domain, right?
Bubble also has a new layout (or rather a simply modified version of the normal one) featuring a little bit of Christmas joy.
I hope everyone will enjoy this competition!
I Heart You Competition, New Staff & Domains!
It was so wonderful to receive so many lovely entries in the I Heart You competition, and it was even more joyous to know people are so kind to nominate friends in the hope that they can win and celebrate something nice. I am very happy to announce that Zirene is the winner of this competition and they shall receive a free domain along with a friend of their choosing. I am sure Zirene is very thankful to everyone that nominated them.
New Staff at Bubble is always such an awesome treat. This time we have two new trouble checkers stepping on board and I hope you shall make Cialina and Saphira very welcome! I know they are going to be another fabulous part of the team! *smooshes all staff*
We have six new domains for subdomain hosting, woo!
And they are; artify.info, catmilk.net, fanify.org, gloomie.com, pixely.info and sillystring.org.
December is here, where is the Christmas competition? Oh I am sure something will be on its way.
Rules Changes & More Updates
Hello all, I have a number changes to update on and I would like to mention that next week I will be adding a whole bundle of new domains (with thanks from those who have access to the special section on Pop who helped vote, yay!) And Happy Thanksgiving to our American friends and those who celebrate!
Rules Change
There have been new changes to the rules, and a rewording/reorganization of the current rules. Please make sure you read these and accept the changes. If you are confused about any of them it is VERY important that you contact me as soon as possible. All currently hosted website owners have been emailed about these changes, you do not have to reply to this email.
View the changes to the rules here, and make sure you read them in full.
New Domains
The new domains are: cupcaked.org, dotties.org, iconical.org, littleoctopus.net, ohemgee.org and roniel.info. Two of these domains were previously owned by members hosted at Bubble, but their accounts were removed so they are not available for the community. I hope they will be interesting!
There has also been a change to the way domains are displayed on the domains page. Because of the increasing number of sites available I have decided to sort these into themed sections to make it easier to find the domain that suits you and your site (subdomain hosting only).
Suggestion Box
Bubble loves ideas and although we have a wonderful team that are always spinning ideas around, having input directly from the community as well is a big help. If you are a member of the Pop forum you will be able to head on over to the Suggestion Box forum and post a topic with any ideas about future events Bubble should hold, changes that should be made or anything else you feel you need to say. This is meant as a way to improve Bubble and allow it to become something for everyone.
Trouble Check
A trouble check was conducted in October and I have had to recently remove 29 accounts that did not reply back to the troubles/suspension email. It is very important that if you are contacted because of a problem with your website that you reply to the email and fix the problem. If you don’t, like the 29 accounts removed this time, yours could be one of them and no one wants that. Because of the large number please remember if you are thinking of replying that you really do want to create a website and will link back and update the site as regularly as you can. If you did not receive a troubles email and your website is still active you have nothing to worry about! *gives a star*
Phew we made it! ;D
